About us

A community group with a simple aim: renewable energy owned by local people, for local people.

Wokingham Energy Collective is a community group with a simple aim: to develop renewable energy projects, like solar, battery storage and heat pumps, that are owned by local people, for local people.

We’re still in our early days, working out what our first projects might be and building the team to get everything running. But we already know this only works with people behind it: neighbours, local businesses, schools, and anyone who wants to help tackle climate change, reduce energy costs and strengthen our local communities across Wokingham Borough.

Our main focus is on developing community-owned renewable energy, but we hope to also be a network to bring together local expertise and enthusiasm for anything involving energy and community benefit in the borough.

How we're run

We’re a volunteer-led group with a committee elected by our members at our Annual General Meeting (AGM). Every member has a say in what we do.

Our Terms of Reference set out how the group works.
